Family and friends,
Aloha and bom dia. I trust that this letter finds you well, and enjoying life to the fullest! The past season of my life here in Hawaii has been such a rich time. A year and a half of serving in a Young Adult Ministry (fusehawaii.com) has been a constant catalyst for growth and refinement. Through my continued work as a Social Worker and mentor, I have also had many opportunities to spread love and hope into the darkest parts of the island. Now It is again time to spread that message to other parts of the world.
Therefore, from May 27—August 28, I will be joining a team in Mozambique and South Africa where I will be serving with Iris Ministries; (irisministries.com) an organization committed to “loving people in tangible ways.” During my time in Africa I will be growing underneath the teachings of Heidi Baker and serving the community in various ways. Living on the property of an orphanage, I will be responsible for various tasks and spending my time loving the children and blessing the people of the village. We will continually go on evening and weekend outreaches to the bush areas: spreading love and hope, as well as food and medical services. I’m excited and hopeful for this opportunity to experience the love God has for the children and people in Africa.
As you can imagine an opportunity like this requires prayer and finances. A missions trip can be testing physically, emotionally and spiritually. Your prayer support would be invaluable! I know that God will hear your prayers and carry me through the whole summer. If you would like to support me prayerfully, I have listed several prayer points to the right.
In addition to prayer support, I would like to invite you to partner with me financially in this journey. I will need to raise $7,000 by May 1st in order to cover the cost of travel, housing, food and medical expenses. I am currently planning a fundraiser to offset the cost as much as possible, however, I would greatly appreciate any support you can give.
